Another angel was born today,
She donned her wings and flew away.
She tried to stay, but had no power,
So Heaven today got a new bright flower.
She was the one who kept us all straight,
With firm words but with love so great.
Without her here the world seems so cold,
But I hear her say “Stay strong, be bold!”
I know someday we’ll meet again in a better place,
Without the pain or illness there’ll be no trace.
She doesn’t hurt now I know for sure,
She’s going to Heaven where life is so pure.
You miss her and wish this was not the end,
She was more than a confidant she was a best friend.
No matter what we got into that caused grief,
She could offer solutions to give us relief.
So goodbye for now, but soon together again,
I know not how nor do I know when.
I’ll see you in Heaven when God calls me there,
I’ll know you are there a home for me to prepare.
I’ll stay behind and try to always do what’s right,
With a prayer to God for His strength and might.
I’ll miss our talks and joking around,
But I’ll always know where you can be found.

Death becomes her not as she lay displayed in a final repose,
The funeral director worked magic to repair her face and nose.
The trauma she must have endured lays buried with her now,
But the cause of her demise resides permanently in a hoosegow!
Promising never to do it again in his lying words he’d say,
But that lasted not long as again he beat her in a rage that day.
His deceitfulness lay hidden from her blind loving eye,
Until he raged against her as that evening drew nigh.
She fought back as best she could being trapped and alone,
But she was forced away from venturing near her phone.
No escape only a raging madman in her eyes view,
Somehow, I think, that then her destiny she knew.
Too late to heed the warnings of family and friends akin,
Too late to run from this dark demon to the light again.
With no help around for safety her life was in his control,
When finally, these beatings had taken their ultimate toll.
Now she lay peaceful and at rest in her coffin so secure,
Her choice to return to him from safety has ended her life sure.
His deed will go punished but not nearly severe enough,
Upon his release another will learn his affection is a bluff!

Kings are crowned and Presidents elected,
Protest abound by those feeling neglected.
Electing people to rule our State or Nation,
Require a lot of thought and deliberation.
We the people who vote should really know,
To elect persons of quality not of show.
Do not be fooled by what politicians say,
But how they treat people along the way.
Knowing the truth is elusive some say,
But research can show their lives each day.
People need to know where loyalty lie,
Or are their votes and favors for sale to buy.
A True public servant is concerned for you and me,
Not an interest group on a spending spree.
Vote for one who values your well-being,
And not one whose values are fleeting.
The sound of gentile tapping on the roof,
Seeing puddles and wet roads as proof.
Sky of grey clouds as far as one can see,
Yes, it’s raining that is plain to me.
The grass looks greener as this rain falls,
Sounds of rolling thunder in the distance calls.
While the aroma of ozone fills the air,
A flash of lightning giving me a scare.
No need to panic as God is washing the earth,
To clean the air and give plants a rebirth.
Flora and fauna relish the water so,
Drinking it in as needed to grow.
A welcome respite from the humidity we feel,
Though uneasy in storms we sometimes feel.
No need to fret as inside we abide,
Let nature’s furry carry on outside.
After the storm a rainbow will appear,
Saying all is well, the coast is clear.
Nature uses this way to clean man’s mess,
Though man’s disdain we need to address!
As I ponder my life through the years,
I find regrets, sorrows, and tears.
All I’ve done seems to have gone up in smoke,
It’s as if my life has been one big joke.
As I ponder the years I have left on earth,
I wonder did my life have any real worth.
We wander this orb making an impression,
Am I making a difference or just a distraction?
Having feelings of hopelessness I stumble about,
Pacing the years left before I finally check out.
No real sense of accomplishment do I feel,
But only failure at each turn of life’s wheel.
Now in my twilight years I look back to see,
Why has this gloom now come upon me?
Today is but another day I sit and wait,
For my inevitable coffin date.
But feel not sorry for I have a fantastic wife,
Who often will brighten my life.
Without her I would bid this life adieu,
And fade away as someone no one knew.
